This is my current design for my dining room assignment. I have 4 walls, two windows, a large opening in one wall to enter the dining room, a 6 person table, a glossy wood floor, and a light source in the middle of the ceiling (currently removed for a better view). I have edited this design multiple times now and probably will continue to edit it as I continue with the rest of the house. I've changed the dimensions of the walls, the type of table, the location and dimensions of the wall opening/windows, and have edited the objects with the material browser. I also have manipulated the orientation of the room in relation to where the rest of the house will go, but I possibly could end up changing that as well. I personally like the theme of the white walls and the glossy wood flooring and believe they go along well together. The most recent change I have made was being able to add a glass-like material to the windows, which I believe is a nice, realistic touch.

This is my updated design for my house project. Along with the dining room, I have added a living room, a kitchen, a downstairs office, stairs leading up to a future second floor, a front door, and several more windows. For the living room, I have a corner TV on a stand, a couch, a lounge chair, and a coffee table. For the office, I have a desk, a desk chair, and monitor. For the kitchen, I have a sink, a refrigerator, and a couple cabinets. There is about 2 windows to every room, never on the same wall. there is a staircase in between the office room and the kitchen, leading up to a second floor I have not completed yet. The front door is located in an indent in the front of the house. I continued with the white walls around the house for a modern look. I also continued the hardwood floor for every room besides the kitchen, where I have white tiles. I also plan on maneuvering the stairs in order for there to be a door there, that would lead into a two car garage.
Proposal - Retail Store
A retail store’s basis of operation is to sell smaller quantities of goods directly to the consumer, whether it’s food, clothing, merchandise, healthcare, etc. I am going to create a design that allows for an increase of customer interaction and forms utmost simplicity for the consumer to find what they are looking for. For a convenience store, I will include a simple checkout area near the entrance of the store. There will be 4 shelves with about 5’ of aisle space in between. There will be one, uni-sex bathroom at the back of the store and a storage area back there as well. The exterior of the building will be a brick themed cement, the interior will be dry wall, and the floors will consist of tile. The rear of the store will consist of the freezer and refrigerator section for drinks and other frozen goods.
I have begun the process of the structure of my retail store with just a basic outline. I have separated the building into mainly two parts, the front of the store and the back which would be a warehouse to store all the goods for stock. I have also created the room for the bathroom. The dimensions are 200' x 250' which is 50,000 sq ft.
Update on Retail Store Design
I unfortunately encountered an error a few weeks ago with my design when I attempted inserting a CAD design of a shelf. For about a week, I was attempting to fix it but could not so I had to disregard that design and start over. Again, unfortunately I didn't get much far in the redesign but I roughly tried to duplicate what I had before to some extent. The walls in the middle of the front part of the building are the stock shelves, I decided to just use walls because the shelf designs were not working. I also added a freezer section, where you can see the 8 doors lined up next to each other.
Final Project Proposal
For the final project, I have decided to create an upper class suburban house. I have not determined the dimensions or square footage of the house yet, but I want to make a two story house, with a porch wrapping around the front of the house and a balcony from the second floor master bedroom. I will also have a 2-3 car garage, and attempt to make a sort of indoor or outdoor swimming pool. The first floor will include a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a bathroom, an office, and a guest room. The second floor will include a master bedroom, with an attached bathroom, one more bedroom, and a balcony where you can see the first floor from. I plan on connecting the garage to the side of the house, and the pool/outside lounge area in the backyard. I will also have a fence that surrounds the property.
Final Project
This is what i have currently for my final project. I was not able to even come close to completing it because of the lack of time seniors had but this is a basic foundation. I have the main part of the house at angle to the garage. I was having trouble with the stairs but the lime green slab would be a front porch leading in to the main part of the house. The house would be two floors, and have an upper balcony leading from the master bedroom. A swimming pool would be located in the space behind both the garage and the main part of house, with an outside lounge area.
